The travel to Eastpoint was very pleasant after getting off I-75 onto FL Hwy 27.

We landed in a truly beautiful, private place, hosted by a nice couple that welcomed us and we never saw again. Picnic table, chairs, fire pit and right across the street from Apalachicola Bay. So so pretty!

Keeping the road clean in Eastpoint – thanks Florida State Penitentiary System!

With the propane apparently not working (we thought it was a leak of some kind, so we just turned it all off), and our single Honda 2200 generator straining to keep everything running, we decided to travel into Tallahassee to a Lowe’s to purchase another generator. It was a 5-hour adventure, and we were grateful we had decided to stay in Apalachicola for two nights!

Our day was rewarded by an amazing dinner at the Owl Cafe in the charming little village of Apalachicola.

After a delicious crab cakes appetizer, we shared a plate of freshly caught red fish with spinach and artichokes. Mmmmm.
